Hi, I'm Alexandra Wahl. My passion lies in communication, languages, and the Internet. What I can offer you is my knowledge of all of the above, with many years of proficiency in the software and Internet industries and extensive experience as a freelance language professional.

Born and raised in Bavaria, Germany and currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am fluent in both English and German and can handle all your translation and other language service needs, such as transcriptions or linguistic software tests.

My interest has always been in the Internet and new media areas, and so my bread and butter during the last decade has been in bilingual e-learning, tutoring, Web research and community management.

After graduating from the Sprachen- und Dolmetscher-Institut (SDI) in Munich as a certified English/German translator with Spanish as a third language, I worked for many years in the software and Internet industries. I handled quality assurance and customer support as well as software training for a well-known developer of machine translation products. I then moved on to new challenges at an exciting startup that developed software for online communities. In both positions, I built up new departments in fast-growing environments.

Even though I loved the technological aspect of these full-time positions, I still wanted to incorporate more of my language expertise into my career.

I returned to school, got a degree as a European NET-Trainer, and took classes at SDI in Munich for localization and multilingual documentation.

Today I work as a freelancer for clients on four continents. I love the diversity of my daily tasks, as well as the freedom my work gives me to live anywhere on the planet and still be available whenever my customers need me.
